should lancer have 4 barrels while it actually fires 2 rockets?

At least the original design does have 4 barrels...
It's not entirely illogical if it only fires 2 rockets at a time, so that its continuus fire rate is not too low.
I don't see this as a big enough reason to deviate from the original...

why do I ask this? well. Lancer's barrels "eat" the polycount and they are pentagonal :/ - what is bad(even at far zoom), so I suggest to remove 2 barrels and make saved 2 barrels hexagonal. what do you think about this?
math:
4 pentagonal cylinders = 64 tris
2 hexagonal cylinders = 40 tris
so I can spend extra tris to enhance turret geometry. :)

I see what you mean.. what about a stretched hexagonal cylinder resembling a double barrel?

that was my second plan if you deny my 1st suggestion  but I thought about 2 stretched octagonal cylinders (56 tris), still better than 4 pentagonal cylinders. :) what do you think?

what does fit better? v1 has close to original tilt angle of barrels but looks a bit strange to me while v2 is more like a classic rocket turret.

I think we should go for v1, since v2 is more like a tank killer and we need to distinguish the two...

Wow dude, this is good stuff, although remember that smaller details tend to get lost :P (I guess you are aware about the fact that you could have gotten away much easier with some of the stuff)
Also, is that the ammo feed mechanism inside the "arms"? I approve ;)
